English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)

The English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is responsible for advising the principal and staff on programs and services for English learners and the School Site Council on the development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).  The ELAC assists the school in the development of the school's needs assessment and ways to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance.  ELAC members are provided training and materials to assist in carrying out advisory responsibilities.

The ELAC is a great way for parents of English learners to become involved in their child’s education.  Meetings include additional informative topics and speakers.  Parents can attend the school ELAC at anytime.  For more information on the ELAC at Killybrooke School please review this web page or contact our school office.

Comité Asesor de Padres de Aprendices de Inglés (ELAC)

El Comité Asesor de Padres de Aprendices de Inglés (ELAC) tiene la responsabilidad de asesorar al director escolar y el personal respecto a los programas y servicios para aprendices de inglés y el Consejo Escolar en el desarrollo del Plan Único para el Rendimiento Estudiantil (SPSA).  El ELAC ayuda a la escuela en la elaboración de la evaluación de necesidades de la escuela y formas de concientizar a los padres de familia con respecto a la importancia de la asistencia escolar regular.  Los miembros de ELAC reciben capacitación y materiales para ayudar a realizar sus responsabilidades de asesoramiento.

El ELAC es una gran manera de involucrar a los padres de aprendices de inglés en la educación de sus hijos.  Las reuniones incluyen temas informativos adicionales y presentadores.  Los padres pueden asistir al ELAC de su escuela en cualquier momento.  Para obtener más información sobre el ELAC en la escuela Killybrooke, por favor revise esta página web o comuníquese con nuestra oficina escolar.

How can you become involved in your child’s school?

We have several parent groups that support Killybrooke School and play an important role in the education of all children. The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meets monthly. English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC) and School Site Council (SSC) meet regularly. We encourage all parents to get involved.

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) – Meets on certain Monday evenings

School Site Council (SSC) – Meets 3 times a year before school

English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC) – Meets 4 times a year

District English Learners Advisory Committee (DELAC) – Monthly meetings at the District office

Help with After School Club/Activities (i.e. Talent Show, Pilot Cup, Family Fiesta and many more)

¿Cómo puede involucrarse en la educación de su niño(a)?

Tenemos varios grupos para padres que apoyan la Escuela Killybrooke y los cuales juegan un papel importante en la educación de todos los niños.  La Asociación de Padres-Maestros (PTA, por sus siglas en inglés) se reúne una vez al mes.  El Comité Consejero de Alumnos Aprendiendo Inglés (ELAC) y el Consejo del Plantel Escolar (SSC) se reúnen trimestralmente.  Animamos a todos los padres a que se involucren.

La Asociación de Padres-Maestros (PTA) – Se reúne ciertos lunes por las tardes  

El Consejo del Plantel Escolar (SSC) – Se reúne 3 veces al año antes de clases

El Comité Consejero de Alumnos Aprendiendo Inglés (ELAC) – Se reúne 4 veces al año  

El Comité Consejero de Alumnos Aprendiendo Inglés del Distrito (DELAC) – Se reúne mensualmente en la oficina del Distrito

Usted puede ayudar con los clubs después de clases/actividades (ej. Show de Talento, Pilot Cup, Fiesta Familiar y mucho más).
